I'm going to be honest, I just played fe8 for the first time recently. I used Neimi and genuinely thought she was really good for a normal run. I didn't even promote to a ranger, I went sniper. Hearing how she's considered bad and then seeing her become one of the most valuable units for this run was really fun.

I think swords on priestess’s is actually a good thing to counter with. For one most of the female priestesses have a rather high attack meaning they wont suffer too much from not being able to use fire instead. They lose out on 6 mt but maintain their hp. In addition there is the female only sword and the beloved zofia which mae and celica make great utility of. Which ends up being stronger than fire. Of course the rings are by default better but they are still viable should someone want that utility

I'm working on a fire emblem/D&D hybrid campaign, and this video was actually very useful to me for figuring out class and map balance, using this mod as a cautionary tale. It'll be my very first time DM'ing, so I wanna make sure I make the characters feel balanced (not one-shotting every enemy), while also making them feel powerful and important.

So, if I'm being honest, I think Zephiel, Narcian and Fluer's stacking leadership stars kinda makes sense lore wise, and adds to the experience. You can't just rush in to defend Cecilia because you're facing the Bern army with 3 of their commanders present, meaning they're going to fight INSANELY hard and are so coordinated due to the, well, leadership.

The one feature I'll always take from romhacks is early Roy promotion, whether it be when he gets the Fire Emblem, or just via a Knights Crest.

I gotta be honest, idk why would you put out a video like this save for the explicit reason of calling the guy out for being a liar and a thief, but also to make sure people actively do mock him for doing wrong. You don't put a video out, talking about someone stealing and lying, and then say "but please don't say anything to the lying thief I'm outing"... That doesn't make sense.

Just finished this for the first time (normal) and good god part 4 endgame was miserable

Lilina is honestly super underrated in this game and a lot of fun to train, also surprised you didnt go with clarine. I know she would probably be a pain to train without healing for exp but shes definitely the best dodgetank in the game with her luck stat.

To be fair the fire stone stealing is in base binding blade i even did the trick in my run because i didn't like only having limited uses on my dragon.

TF is the tier list on the right at 8:13 smoking? Knoll is probably the best supportive unit in the game. He can immediately promote to summoner, the best support class in the game upon recruitment and even has access to an earth seal on the first map he's available.

I gotta disagree with you on the 4 range of the double bow being a real issue. I'd argue it's a might issue. As far as I know it's the only bow that has access to that reach while the longbow only reaches 2-3, therefore it lets you poke from a safer distances than that weapon. If it had 2-4 ramge it would be outclassed from a steelbow forge at 2 range always, and would compete with longbow damage at 3. If it's weaker than the longbow it faining 2-4 reach makes it technically better, but would never be used over those two bows. If it's stronger than the longbow then the longbow then it would be used over that always pressumung they're available at the same time, if Double bow is available after it'll be the better option in all scenarios than it once you gain it. It becomes a worthwhile weapon when given more might than the other options, if it was locked to 4 range but given 20 might it would a great weapon for helping chip bosses if not outright kill them from a safe distance, itd be a great weapon for killing enemies while keeping the user safe. Keeping it locked to Snipers would make them worth using from this bow alone. That's why I'd call the Double Bow's range a non issue, and a might issue instead.

I played this game on normal and thought it was pretty good at the time, with the Skills adding variety and the buffs to some of my favorite bad units. I didn't encounter any glitches and had a blast. Seeing that the guy didn't do jack or shit makes me quite sad. He's currently working on a new version so I hope he gets his shit together. (still better than project ember)

I remember playing this and having an okay time with it - I thought the characters all being disgustingly strong was intentional though since FE8 is an easy game. Wasn't aware of all the stolen asset stuff :( Honestly all I really want from an FE6 remake is to buff the unusable-tier characters slightly to make them merely 'bad', and to remove ambush spawns. That's it. Ember goes too far for my tastes, but I don't know of any more lightweight Romhacks that do what I'm looking for.
